Okay just thought of doing a wee photo blog today nothing hectic. So here goes: A awesome handmade Christmas gift I got from V&B must still post the pic of the journal I got with the cookies (boasting a beautiful pewter cover). I gave them each a pewter class as a gift, so I guess it is the gift that keeps on giving. Loved the personal thoughts and attention that went into it! And this is what I did with it: Sent the cookies to school with M for her B-day. Every year we do a "veldfliek" (movies... Continue reading ...

Went to the U2 concert unbelieveable!!! Made some more hearts - feels like I've been doing A LOT of these lately! Wait, yes, I have! Child's Play
In an effort to keep my kids occupied last weekend (rain,
rain and little more rain) I pulled out my Pewter set and showed them how to do
this cool craft.
The pewter set I have myself not even used as I have been too
busy and really wanted to safe this craft for a special occasion – that pewter
set – what we will not do for our kids!
I tried starting a project myself but soon gave up as I realized
that I cannot craft and be teacher at the same time. Pity as I have b... Continue reading ...
Today is a FANTASTIC day!
Oh how do I count my blessings today.
I am just so so so happy (yes it called for 3 so’s). You know that hop skip and a jump happy
feeling. If this was a Bollywood
movie everybody around me would burst into spontaneous song and dance, and I
would be the ultra sexy one in the middle with tall dark and mysterious next to
me.
Why?
- It is my one-and-only’s B-day today – B-days are
big in our house!
- I got the best (restrained my self not go best
best best here) n...

There is so much to show and tell this Monday, it seems that
the busier I am at work during the week the more I can do over a weekend! That age-old
saying must be true, if you want something done – give it to a busy person.
My week last week was mostly consumed by a 16 page
newspaper, editorial, sub, editorial, sub and finding the right photos etc etc
etc. So in the evenings and over
the weekend I did not want to get even a glimpse of a computer or any other
small screen. ... Continue reading ...

Kniting
I have been doing a lot of this lately. For some unknown reason it realy makes me happy... Not sure what I will end-up using it for, but while it keeps me calm and smiling I will carry on with this meaningless little project. Lemme know if you have cool ideas on what I can use these metres and metres of French knitting, I am contemplating a rug ... Continue reading ...

About Me
Just love being creative, be it writing, tinkering in the studio, cooking or playing fairy-godmother to old run-down stuff.
I firmly believe that upcycling is the way of the future, there are already too many "things" on earth so rather repurpose something old and give it a beautiful creative new lease of life. It it's broken ... upcycle it!
Stick it to the mass manufacturers and support handmade product.
